Where’s the best place to get a po-boy in New Orleans? Johnny’s Po-Boys, 511 St. Louis Street

Founded in 1950 and known as the oldest poboy restaurant in the world; Johnny's offers a classic take on the iconic sandwiches--and yes, dressed means with pickles here!

“Little Gem in the Big Easy”

Johnny's Po-Boy is an old school diner in the French Quarter. We enjoyed the 1/2 po-boy and gumbo special enough to come back for breakfast the next day. Breakfast was even better! It was recommended to me by a friend, and I recommend it to you.

“Great Place for a Poboy”

Must go to if you visit New Orleans I bought it to go to take on my flight. I ended up waiting until later that evening to eat it. Still hours after purchasing it was so very DELICIOUS. I ordered the roast beef fully dressed. The meat so flavorful and fresh The bread fabulous. I can taste it still as...

“Perfectly Seasoned and Cooked”

Born and raised in NOLA, I've had a bunch of poboys in my life from different seafood places and shops!! But no lie the oyster poboy from here has been my favorite thus far.. so perfectly seasoned and cooked. The batter was just the right amount. I felt like there was a perfect balance of everything within the sandwich itself. Great poboy bread as well.. definitely would come back again & recommend to anyone that's around the French quarter area that's ready to grub on some poboys!!

“HAVE TO TRY THIS PLACE...”

You have to come in to this place, very authentic great po- boys amazing selection you can find anything... I recommend the hot sausage po boy with the works. We lucked out about the line but I would wait if I had to. The owner is so nice.
